Falcon Pride Day at CRLS

Every year on the half day before Thanksgiving, CRLS has had a pep rally that takes place during the last hour of school.

But this year, CRLS students expanded the school celebration to show appreciation for everything CRLS offers. The student government, STARS, the athletic department, and the Visual and Performing Arts department organized the first ever “Falcon Pride Day”, which celebrated the diversity of CRLS and showcased the many talents of our diverse student body.

“This really was a terrific event for the students,” said Principal Chris Saheed. “The students and staff really enjoyed this.”

The day was filled with performances by the cast of CRLS fall musical, Once Upon a Mattress, student poetry readings, Jazz ensemble (featuring CRLS assistant principal Bobby Tynes) was a big hit. It was even more exciting for the students when Superintendent Jeff Young picked up an electric guitar and played along. The CRLS Acapella group, and student dance performances in the cafeteria, a spirited powder puff football game inside the field house, and in the gym students engaged in festive field day activities. All ending with a pep rally that promoted school spirit and student participation in sports and club activities.
