Latino Youth Recognition Day at Fenway Park seeking nominations

Each year, El Mundo Newspaper and the Boston Red Sox sponsor the Latino Youth Recognition Day at Fenway Park for middle school students who deserve recognition for their academic efforts.  CPS has participated in the past several years and we’ve sent about two dozen students to Fenway park as a reward for their hard work in the classroom.

So if you know of a  6th, 7th or 8th grade student CPS student who deserves to be  recognized at Latino Youth Recognition Day at Fenway Park (again, the program recognizes Hispanic/Latino middle school students for their academic achievement) talk to your school principal, assistant principal or family liaison.

In addition to being of Latino origin or background, the students nominated must have excellent school attendance, a B+ or higher average academic record (high honor roll), and a demonstrated willingness to help others in their communities.
