On Tuesday, April 28th, the Tobin Montessori School had its April visiting artists present to students in all grades. Students heard musicians play the violin, cello, and piano. Students in grades 1 and 2 had a chance to speak with the musicians and learn more about the instruments in small workshops.
On May 3rd, Giles Laroche visited. Giles is a nationally-known children’s illustrator. He shared with the students at an all-school assembly how a book is made. Giles then led cut paper art workshops with the students in grades 3 and 4.
On May 7th, an opera singer from Longy School of Music will perform for the entire school. In June, the Tobin will have musicians and dancers performing for students and talking with them in small workshops. ”We are thrilled that we have met our organization’s objective of having at least one professional artist visit every month and are looking forward to meeting this goal again next year,” said Principal Seth Lewis-Levin.
